Founded in 2005, Another Way Of Life has built a reputation as one of Spain's leading specialists in lifestyle property. Rather than trying to cover every town and every type of real estate, we chose a different path: becoming experts in a small number of unique markets where local knowledge and experience really matter.

Our advice is based on first-hand knowledge. We understand rural planning regulations, historic buildings, renovation projects, protected landscapes and the practical realities of living in Spain. We know the areas we represent because we have lived and work in Spain for over 20 years.
Unlike multiple listing agencies (MLA) or multi-agency platforms, with hundreds or even thousands of properties, we believe in quality rather than quantity. Every property we offer has been personally inspected and photographed by one of us allowing us to provide accurate information and honest guidance from the very beginning.
Our head office is in Granada, supported by associates in Cádiar, Sevilla, Aracena, Álora, Madrid and Cáceres, giving us local knowledge across a wide geographical area while maintaining the personal service of a specialist agency.

Our People
Allan Hilder is the director of Another Way Of Life and has lived in Andalucia for more than 25 years. He lives with his wife and daughter (when she is not in London) in the Albayzin district of Granada. Allan is a Certified Chartered Accountant and holds both a Masters and a First Class Honours Degree in Spanish and French from Kent University. Having bought and renovated several properties, both in the Albayzin and in the countryside, Allan is well placed to advise not only on purchasing properties but on how to go about renovating them and the potential problems that may arise. A cornerstone of Another Way Of Life’s philosophy is that the agency works as an honest broker between seller and buyer. We are not sales people. Our aim is that both parties emerge from every sale satisfied with the outcome and confident that we have acted both efficiently and professionally. We are fluent Spanish speakers and vastly experienced in all legal aspects of buying and selling property in Andalucia which enables us to give the very best service to our clients, both sellers and buyers.
Our Promise
To our vendors, we promise to maximise exposure of their property, not only passively via our websites and international property portals but also actively through direct, and precisely targeted, email marketing backed by a sophisticated customer relations management system. We will highlight all the advantages of their property and will do our utmost to sell it at the best possible price.
To our buyers, we promise to listen carefully to their needs and recommend properties that are likely to suit them even though this may not be immediately apparent to the client. We will not engage in estate agent’s tricks such as showing you unsuitable properties just to make it appear to the seller that we are active on their behalf and to take up your time.
