Description

Fabulous open, light and airy large town house.

This magnificent townhouse formerly the home of a wealthy merchant has been totally renovated including all structural elements. It is a spacious home with three patios, the first of which is covered with a glass roof, the second is open to the sky but covered by a moveable sunshade and the third forms the private garden which is automatically irrigated every evening by the property's own well.  Sitting at a table in the second patio, listening to birdsong from the garden, it is impossible to believe that you are not in the countryside!

The property has three floors arranged around a central patio with two staircases leading to the different parts of this extensive house. The number of bedrooms and bathrooms is very flexible depending on the owner's needs. As well as the ten bedrooms, there are three offices and two living rooms that could be used as further bedrooms if desired. All the rooms are spacious and in immaculate condition. There are currently three large bathrooms with either shower or bath. However, there are two WCs which could convert to full bathrooms as well as a further room that would be easy to convert into a bathroom. This would bring the total number of bathrooms up to six.

Insofar as possible original elements were retained during the renovation, for example much of the high-quality ironwork which dates from 1848 when the house was built have been retained as have the original hand-painted wall tiles, depicting aspects of Osuna's rich history. Many of the windows and doors are also original and have been carefully preserved.

The house is entered through a large traditional wooden door and then by the original ironwork gate with an electric opener from the inside. The current owners have used the rooms on either side of the entry for their professional work and it is possible to have visitors enter these rooms without entering the house itself.

There is a roof terrace on the third floor with panoramic views across the roofs of the beautiful town of Osuna and out across the plains looking south to hills and mountains.

This great house would suit someone wishing to live a tranquil life with space to breathe and move but with access to all services on the doorstep. The property lends itself to the configuration of guest suites which could be closed off when not in use. Alternatively they could be rented for a bed & breakfast business. The property has car access and on street parking.

The property needs to be visited to appreciate its simple beauty. Currently furnished in traditional style, it would work equally well with a contemporary look.

Osuna is a truly elegant town with great historic interest. During the sixteenth to the early nineteenth centuries it even had its own university, which now forms part of the university of Sevilla. It has every facility, including a train station with direct connections to Sevilla and Malaga. Perhaps, most importantly, people in Osuna look extremely happy!
