Description

Located in Granada's historic Albayzín district, this exceptional townhouse offers panoramic Alhambra views from three private terraces. Entirely rebuilt in 2005, this thoughtfully designed home combines modern comforts with traditional Andalusian charm.

The house, built around a classic Andalusian patio, is arranged across multiple levels. Upon entering from the street, a charming staircase leads to a terrace with two cypress trees, five orange trees, a pomegranate, a small cork oak, an apricot and two vines which provide shade in summer. This terrace, which sits substantially higher than the street below, is spacious and an ideal place to take meals.

Directly off the terrace is the lounge. With three double French doors to the terrace, the lounge is filled with light. Off the lounge there is a bathroom and a storeroom. Passing through the lounge into the hall, there is the spectacular kitchen with a central island and, unusually, two hobs, one in each corner. There is a breakfast bar built into the island. The kitchen work surfaces are all of granite. The oven is commercial sized, there is a fridge freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. Accessed from the kitchen is a cave which serves as wine cellar and pantry.

Double doors from the kitchen open onto the patio, across which is the dining room which also has a sink, refrigerator and induction hob. Stairs from this room lead up to a single bedroom with en-suite shower room. This wing of the property can be accessed directly using the door at the top of the entry stairs and can be made separate if desired.

Also located in the patio is a former toilet which now houses a second washing machine and two doors giving access to the hot water tanks. Access to the cave area is also from the patio. Attractive brick arches lead to the lounge, three double bedrooms and a bathroom witha Moorish style sunken tiled bath. A fan with ventilation pipes maintains the caves completely dry at all times. There is no humidity and the caves have no odour associated with damp environments.

On the first floor accessed by a marble staircase from the hall is the spectacualr master bedroom with three double French doors overlooking the Alhambra and an en-suite bathroom. The bath is positioned under the window for optimum Alhambra views while bathing! The master bedroom enjoys access to the rear patio and, via a flight of steps, to its own privated terrace with views of the Alhambra, the Generalife and the Sierra Nevada. The rear patio has stairs which lead to the largest and highest of the terraces with dining table and marvellous 180º views across the Albayzín, the Alhambra and the Sierra Nevada. From this terrace there are steps up to a door to the street behind which has vehicle access so is ideal for unloading heavy items.

Siuated in a quiet street within a few minutes walking distance of all services in the Albayzín, it is also only twenty minutes easy walking to the centre of the city. Walking down is easy, walking back up less so, but there is a bus which stops nearby to do the work for you.
