Beautiful and charming complex of two cortijos attached to one another but with entirely separate driveways and entrances. Currently, the owners live in one of the cortijos and rent the other for self-catering holidays which generates a substantial verifiable income.
The property is set up as follows.
Owner's cortijo: First Floor: two bedrooms, one bathroom. The master bedroom has access to a terrace with views across to the Sierra Lujar and along the Guadalfeo Valley. Ground Floor: lounge, spacious kitchen, laundry/utility room, print room/study and music studio/study. Outside there are well-kept and easily-maintained gardens planted with native species requiring little water, shaded seating and eating areas, two vegetable plots and a small greenhouse. The garden is fully fenced, enclosed and totally private.
Self-Catering Cortijo: five bedrooms, all en-suite, four of which are on the ground floor and one on the first floor accessed by an external staircase. Every room is different and two of the bedrooms have additional separate single bed areas, suitable for families. The largest can also accommodate an additional bed within the room itself. In the communal area there is a very well-appointed fully-fitted kitchen, a spacious lounge, a small library, a shower room and a beautiful internal patio. Outside there is a shaded seating area with a dining table and a grassed space leading to the fenced pool area with a 10m x 5m pool which has a solar cover.
There are three wood-burners in the property and plenty of space in the owner's garden to store wood, some of which can be obtained from pruning the olives on the land. Around 50 litres of oil each year is obtained from the olives. There are two combi boilers in the property, one in each section which provide both central heating and hot water. Air-condtioning/heating units are fitted throughout the property where necessary and there are two separate internet contracts with excellent download speed for streaming movies etc.
Whilst every attempt has been made to preserve the character and charm of the property, the windows have been replaced and are all double glazed.
In the grounds, a few paces from the entrance to the self-catering patio there is a solid wooden cabin of some 45 m2 with windows on three sides. This has a table tennis table which may be folded away when the space is used for yoga etc. Some of the furniture in the self-catering area is included in the price.
An exciting, quirky, tranquil and comfortable home, nestled among olive groves and within walking distance of the town, which can also provide an excellent income.
