Description

Two charming cortijos, each with their own outside space and separate entrances. There is a shared swimming pool of 8m x 4m and a deck with ample space for sun loungers. The property, set on a plot of 5859 m2 with fruit trees and mature gardens, is located under 10 minutes drive from the lovely town of Montefrío, repeatedly voted one of Spain's most picturesque towns.

 

Cortijo One: The cortijo is accessed through a lovely vine covered patio which produces considerable quantity of grapes. Just off the patio, a few stepa away, is an attractive enclosed seating area with table and benches, providing a very intimate space for dining or socialising. On the ground floor of the cortijo there is a lounge with wood-burner, a light, spacious kitchen with breakfast table,a large double bedroom and a bathroom. Upstairs there are two more bedrooms and a family bathroom. The owners have retained many original elements in renovating the cortijo such as wooden beams and wall niches, giving the property real character. Outside to the front, there is a garage and a large area which has been partially prepared for parking but which could equally well be planted to form a garden. To the rear is a large covered dining porch and garden space. At some distance from the property is a container used for storage.

 

Cortijo Two: Entering through a walled gateway, a very large porch area with dining table gives access to a fully equipped kitchen, a lounge/bedroom four with wood burning stove, three double bedrooms and a family bathroom, all on the ground floor. Upstairs there is a large light lounge and a second family bathroom. Outside there are charming gardens planted withvarious fruit trees and native species among which are several appealing seating areas both within the gardens and behind the house at roof level. This cortijo, which is currently rented for rural tourism, is sold completely furnished. 

 

Separating the two cortijos is a deep stream bed over which is a connecting bridge. There is water in the bed only after heavy rains.

 

The property enjoys mains connections for both electricity and water. In addition each of the cortijos has its own well for irrigation. There is good broadband internet connection.

 

Access is very easy. Cortijo One is approached via a concrete drive from a very minor road and Cortijo Two is accessed by a short, flat track from the same road.

 

The property is set in a very tranquil location and enjoys views over the surrounding countryside. There is one neighbour behind Cortijo Two, a quiet Spanish family living in a similarly renovated cortijo.
